Do you fancy earning between £40 – £350 just for giving your opinion?
With market research, you can!
Market research involves sharing your thoughts on a particular topic.
There are different types of research you can participate in. These include focus groups, surveys, mystery shopping tasks, and one to one interviews.
The majority of research studies take place in and around major cities within the UK. However, due to COVID, most studies are now taking place on the phone or online through platforms such as Zoom, and Google Meetings.
With the average market research task lasting between 60 – 90 minutes, this is a great way to earn a decent chunk of change for a small amount of your time.
You can make £100’s a year for sharing your thoughts on topics such as your latest grocery shop, your favourite car, or even your favourite foods!

Because your opinion matters!
Companies find your opinion invaluable when it comes to understanding the trends and buying behaviours of consumers. Your opinion helps to shape the future of products and services and helps companies to improve their brand.

Once you sign up with a market research agency you will start receiving emails informing you of the latest opportunities within your area. If you feel as though you match the project criteria then you can apply.
If you are selected to take part in the research, you will receive a phone call or an email informing you that you have been chosen.
No, a reputable company will never ask you to pay to take part in market research.
Unfortunately, some projects restrict people working in certain fields such as marketing, journalism and advertising. You’ll need to check the criteria of each individual project before applying.
Some agencies restrict the number of times you can participate in research to once every six months. Although this is not always the case, in order to get the most from market research I recommend applying for the higher paid research opportunities and also signing up to different agencies.
Reputable companies will never share or sell your personal data without your consent. If in doubt about a company’s reputability then you can check to see if the company is a member of the Market Research Society.
At times you may not match what the recruiters are looking for. But don’t be disheartened, there will be plenty of other research opportunities that you can take part in. Also, try to apply for opportunities as soon as they hit your inbox to maximise your chances of being selected.
Market research is a great side hustle that will allow you to earn some extra cash in your spare time. Remember to not feel disheartened if you don’t get chosen for the project you have applied for. There will be plenty of other opportunities for you to take part.
I’d love to hear about your market research experience. Let me know in the comments how you get on! 🙂
