With an average rating of 3.8 on Trustpilot, Superprof is considered to be a great company to work for. The company have just over 1000 subjects that they offer to students which means you are spoilt for choice on which subject/s you can choose to teach.
Overall, Superprof appears to be a great company to work for as a tutor. However, some students have left reviews on Trustpilot claiming to be dissatisfied regarding monthly subscriptions and hidden charges.
Although this does not affect you as a tutor, just bear in mind that if you ever sign up as a student or if you recommend students to Superprof – be sure to read any small print including the Terms and Conditions. If unsure, you can always contact Superprof regarding student fees.
Pay: Superprof states that you can earn up to £50 per hour as a tutor.
2. Tutorful
Tutorful is a UK based tutoring company. It has a 4.7 rating and it is rated excellent on Trustpilot. However, the company does require you to have at least two years’ tutoring experience before applying.
Pay: Earn between £20-£30 an hour.
3. Wyzant
With a Trustpilot rating of 4.2, Wyzant is considered to be a great tutoring company. To tutor for Wyzant you will need to be a US resident.
Pay: According to Glassdoor the average tutor salary is between $29 – $31 per hour. However, some tutors charge $200 per hour! So don’t be confined to the average salary. Instead, check what other people are charging for the subject you wish to teach and price accordingly.
4. Preply
Preply scores a 4.3 rating and is regarded as excellent on Trustpilot. There are over 100 subjects taught on their platform so take your pick and choose the subject you’d like to teach. The company also give you the opportunity to attend training webinars to develop your skills.
Pay: The site states that tutors charge between $15 – $25 per hour. However, you can set your own pay rate allowing you the potential to earn more than this.
5. Tutorfair
Tutorfair is a UK based tutoring company with a 4.2 average rating on Trustpilot. Tutorfair protects you from last-minute cancellations, which means you’ll still get paid should a student cancel at the last minute.
Pay: Tutors on the platform have the potential to earn in excess of £70.
